Meriwether Mint Julep
A Southern classic with crushed ice, fresh mint, and a bold Tennessee bourbon finish from Meriwether.
Prep Time 4 minutes mins
Total Time 4 minutes mins
- 1.5 oz / 45 ml Meriwether Bourbon
- 0.5 oz / 15 ml Simple syrup
- 8 to 10 Fresh mint leaves
- Full glass Crushed ice
- 1 Mint bouquet for garnish
Add mint leaves and simple syrup to a julep cup or rocks glass.
Gently press the mint with a bar spoon to release aroma. Do not shred the leaves.
Add Meriwether Bourbon.
Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice.
Stir until the glass begins to frost.
Top with more crushed ice.
Garnish with a full mint bouquet and serve with a straw.
Pro Top: This is a strong warm-weather Meriwether cocktail. Keep the mint fresh and aromatic. Bruised mint can make the drink taste bitter.
